This project began in 2019 as an artistic take on the "telephone game" (a good 2 years before this type of back and forth collaboration became the norm in the age of covid-19). Composer Matthew Hammond sent a live recording of a piano composition as it was still in progress. Artist Ron Gross would receive the mp3 of the recording and then spend 20-30 minutes drawing with crayons as he listened to Matthew's composition. The next day Ron would send a photo of his drawing to Matthew, who would then compose a new piano soundtrack inspired by Ron's drawing. That piece of fresh music would then be recorded and sent back to Ron and this process continued back and forth 14 times resulting in 14 drawings and 14 accompanying songs.
